A study published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence in February 2007 reports that the most frequent reason for unwanted sexual intercourse in the collegiate “hooking-up” culture was impaired judgment due to alcohol. Fifty-one percent of college students believe that alcohol facilitates sexual opportunities.
